MODEL Q&A | IZI SIMUNDIC

Model and magazine founder Izi Simdunic showcases her style and sits down with Oroton for a Q&A.

In your own words describe what you do?

I started out studying economics, and for the last 6 years I’ve been modelling. I also have a magazine called The Editorialist which focuses on unique travel experiences.

What does everyday luxury mean to you?

Nothing is more luxurious to me than having an hour or two to myself in the morning. If I’m in Sydney, that means waking up at sunrise and jumping in the ocean. In London, it’s sitting in the courtyard at my favourite hotel, having an americano.

What's on your bedside table right now?

I just finished the Chernobyl mini-series on HBO (phenomenal). Sticking to the theme, I’ve started reading Producing Power: The Pre-Chernobyl History of the Soviet Nuclear Industry - by Sonja Schmid.

What's your beauty secret?

I constantly have very heavy makeup on for work. So I try to keep my regular routine as minimal as possible. I will double cleanse, use micellar water, then press on my Biologique serums. When I travel, it’s just one big hydration station, you’ll find me head to toe in sheet-masks. I always BYO a silk eye-mask, pillow case and Bragg apple-cider vinegar for my morning drink.

Where is your favourite lunch spot?

In London, my favourite spot is the bar at Cecconi’s. In Sydney, (and when I need a little food for the soul) I’m at A Tavola, having my forever favourite pasta (pappardelle ragu) BUONO!

Any quotes you love?

Character is how you treat the person who can do nothing for you

What's your favourite Oroton piece this season?

The check blazer and skirt. Obsessed.

What are you currently watching/listening to?

I’m terrible with music, I have had the same playlist on my phone since 2006 - and only just downloaded Spotify. Welcome to 2020 Izi.

Do you collect anything?

I have a little collection of plates from my favourite restaurants in Europe, nothing like an eclectic kitchen.

What's in your bag right now?

Haha, it’s a very diverse mix. The most peculiar thing however, is my little flask of Balsamic Vinegar (exert via my book, Memoirs of a Balsamic Addict.)
