INFLUENCER Q&A | KAITY MODERN

What are your intentions and goals for 2020?

This year I want to be more conscious about how I spend my time both online and in everyday life. It’s so easy to tune into social media as a default in our downtime - my goal for this year is to turn to different modes of relaxation. 2020 is the year of self-care and giving myself permission to sit in the moment a little more.

In your own words describe what you do?

I work as a creative director and digital content creator. I collaborate with fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands both locally and internationally to create content for their platforms or for my personal Instagram @kaity_modern and blog www.modernlegacy.com.au.

The usual term to describe what I do would be “influencer,” however my relationships with brands rely more on my creative direction and experience in creating high quality digital content rather than on the size of my audience alone.

What's on your bedside table right now?

Somewhat embarrassingly I haven’t read a new book in a long time, I have the most terrible attention span for such things. I love anything non-fiction though so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know!

What's your favourite everyday ritual?

Waking up to a hot cup of coffee whilst rolling out my face with an ice-cold jade roller. It wakes me up in two opposing ways.

Where is your favourite lunch spot?

I’m obsessed with the salads at COOH in Alexandria here in Sydney.

Any quotes you love?

‘Comparison is the thief of joy.’ - Theodore Roosevelt. A tried and true quote that is relevant in all aspects of life.

What's your favourite Oroton piece this season?

The Celia Day Clutch is a cool new take on the classic clutch bag. I love its soft structure and versatility across day and night.

What are you currently watching/listening to?

I have a huge backlog of shows I need to catch up on – the new season of The Crown, On Becoming a God in Central Florida and a couple of new Louis Theroux documentaries I haven’t yet had the chance to see.

Do you collect anything?

Not really. My husband might argue clothes, shoes and bags but I just call that my (very large) wardrobe.

What's in your bag right now?

I never leave the house without my wallet, phone, keys, lip balm, sunglasses and spare hair ties, bobby pins, Band-Aids and painkillers - the little things you almost always need at some point when out and about.
