In your own words describe what you do?
I went from spending years working in fashion magazines to running my own media business. I left my dream job of deputy editor and fashion features director at Australian VOGUE to set up my own business. Looking back, it was a huge decision, but at the time, it didn’t feel that way. I just followed my gut instinct and something inside me knew I wanted a change. I’ve always been a story-teller – I love interviewing people, I love sharing their stories and I love working on a platform that connects and inspires women. In two words, I’m a mum and an editor.
What's on your bedside table right now?
Since lockdown began, I’ve loved reading more. I used to binge watch Netflix series, and while I still occasionally do, I’ve made a big effort to turn off the TV and put my head in a book. It’s better for the soul. I’ve just read Where the Crawdads Sing and it was one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. I’m about to start Normal People. Other than a book, I have a SLIP eye mask which means when my husband comes to bed later than me I don’t get woken up by his phone torch!
Where is your favourite lunch spot?
Berts at Newport – I love everything about that place from the interiors to the food. Or at home, surrounded by good friends. I’m a huge homebody. We just bought a fire pit so are enjoying lots of late afternoons/early evenings toasting marshmallows.
What's your favourite Oroton piece this season?
This beautiful leather skirt – the leather is so soft and I love the longer cut. I’m pulling it out every other day right now.
What's in your bag right now?
My phone, car key, a credit card, a lip balm, water and of course, hand sanitiser. I try not to carry around too much of my own stuff, as I’m always loaded up with my children’s bags.
