THE LIMITED EDITION PANORAMA BAG

Words by Natasha Inchley

The latest limited edition handbag by Oroton, the Panorama Bag, is the perfect example of the new Creative Director, Sophie Holt’s knack for combining old artisanal techniques with a clever take on modern design details.
“I love the idea of paying tribute to the brands rich heritage of quality and craftsmanship, but in a modern sense that’s right for now,” says Oroton’s Sophie Holt.
The hand-worked collection, which features beautiful top stitched leathers woven together to form a covetable shape, is stamped with a special Oroton plate to celebrate its unique design and edition.

THE CRAFT

In the workshop, Oroton’s craftsmen map out the new Panorama bag on glossy caramel-toned leathers and woven canvases.

THE PATTERN / MAKING

The Panorama bag must look as luxurious on the inside as they do on the outside – many hours go into its hand-worked finishes, from the decorative top stitching through to the bold hardware.

THE DETAILS

As the Panorama bag’s shapes come together, details are key – a toggled tassel is cut by hand, folded and stitched as an additional touch.

THE LIMITED EDITION STAMP

To celebrate the Panorama’s exclusivity, each bag is stamped with a brass plate which marks its number and year.

TRADITION MADE MODERN

Each bag is accompanied by a canvas purse insert, and adjustable strap, and beautiful finishing touches add the ultimate statement.
