ENTREPRENEUR Q&A | TALISA SUTTON

As founder of Badlands Studio, Talisa Sutton's entrepreneurial spirit is admirable. Get to know Talisa on a personal level with Oroton's Q&A.

In your own words describe what you do?

I work with my husband on our creative practice, Badlands Studio, where we provide graphic design, art direction and content creation for brands. I also run Badlands Journal, a digital editorial platform, and you’ll find me sharing my favourite outfits and interior inspiration over on my Instagram @talisa_sutton

What does everyday luxury mean to you?

Being comfortable and at ease with yourself and your surroundings.

What's on your bedside table right now?

Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney

What's your beauty secret?

Always take off your makeup before bed, and moisturise day and night. Keeping hydrated during the day is very important too!

Where is your favourite lunch spot?

For something fancy, Sean’s Panaroma in Bondi; for a mid-week work lunch, I love Bills in Surry Hills or Went to See the Gypsy in Alexandria

Any quotes you love?

On fashion:

"Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn."

- Gore Vidal

And on remembering to always be in the moment:

"Life changes in the instant. The ordinary instant." - Joan Didion

What's your favourite Oroton piece this season?

The Cotton-Linen Full Sleeve Utility Dress in Pecan. I love all things neutral at the moment, and this dress is an effortless piece that can be dressed up or down.

What are you currently watching/listening to?

My husband and I just started watching the Nordic Noir series Wisting and I’m catching up on episodes of The High Low Show (one of my favourite podcasts) when I get the chance.

Do you collect anything?

Artwork by emerging local and international artists. I love acquiring works from debut shows and supporting fresh talent, if only we had more walls!

What's in your bag right now?

Wallet, keys, phone, lip balm and sunglasses. I keep it light as I usually have a baby bag with me too.
