2. THE MOTORCYCLE JACKET
Nothing says luxurious cool quite like a camel-coloured moto jacket. The colour instantly makes this edgy staple look like a million bucks.That has everything to do with the rich, caramel colour, says fashion editor Allyson Payer.“Something about this classic neutral hue brings a luxe, well-made feel to any piece, no matter the price point,” writes Payer at the WhoWhatWear blog. “As a bonus, it meshes well with nearly every other color, from basic to bold, which is why it will never go out of style. But because camel-coloured leather is more difficult to make well, finding the perfect jacket for fall requires a knack - and a sizable budget, cautions fashion editor Diana Tsui. “Finding a good brown leather jacket under $1,000 can be tricky - you want the color to be really rich, not generic,” Tsui explains at The Cut. “This one [from Whistles Agnes] is that perfect shade of caramel that feels like the interior of a fancy sports car.” Thankfully, making an investment piece in a moto jacket always pays off. According to fashion editor Steff Yotka, midi hemlines are making a strong comeback, and designers are doing their best to make them a bit sexier. “At Rodarte, tiers of lace crept downward over frilled boots, while at Marc Jacobs feather-trim tweeds and laser-cut leather skirts ended just below the knee to reveal the designer’s teetering platforms,” Yotka writes at Vogue.
