Of course, there’s also a bustling culture and wellbeing scene to explore. Here, we share our to-do list.

If Byron Bay has a theme, it’s one that revolves around the idea of good living: think picturesque hiking trails, organic food tastings, ocean dips and yoga classes. And while it’s true this destination has become upscale over the years, the town has still managed to hold onto an earthy charm worth immersing in.
Walk the Cape Byron Track to the lighthouse to take in brilliant views across the headland and even a spot of whale-watching (from May through to November).
Visit nearby Bangalow and time your trip with the town’s market day (on the fourth Sunday of every month) when the region’s artists, healers and growers come together.
Master a new skill: sign up for some extreme saltwater therapy via a private surfing lesson at one of Byron’s pristine beaches.
