Words by THE VISTA
The Easter long weekend is renowned for relaxing getaways and celebrating the break with family and friends. The Vista's Julia Ashwood takes us on an ultimate escape to Byron Bay, showing us all her secret spots for retreating and winding down with her family.
How great is the feeling of getting home after a week of work, packing your bags and hitting the road to somewhere new?
A great little escape for us since moving home to North Coast, NSW is the sweet seaside village of Yamba.
Just an hour and a half south of Byron Bay, it is the sleepier, little sister which is well on the rise. With great beaches, lovely cafes and wine bars dotted throughout the town. There is no shortage of lovely stays including our favourite family shack, The Black Ace.
Our favourite spots are:
Paradisio - top of the hill, a lovely menu and matching wine list
The Pacific Hotel - you can't go past the view!
Leche Cafe - a sweet courtyard out the back, they also cater for events in case your planning a party at your holiday home
Beachwood Cafe - cosy, casual, great fresh Turkish inspired foods and good for kids
