SUEDE AND NUBUCK
Suede and nubuck are among the most luxurious leathers we work with, and among the most delicate. Both are crafted from premium leather and have a soft, velvety finish. Suede is created from the underside of the hide, while nubuck is made by lightly buffing the outer grain surface, making it slightly more durable. Both require a little more attention than smooth or pebble leather, but with the right care, they'll remain beautiful for years.

Both require a little more attention than smooth or pebble leather, but with the right care, they'll remain beautiful for years.
A suede brush is an essential tool for maintaining these leathers. Its soft bristles lift and restore the nap (the raised, velvety surface texture), keeping your piece looking fresh between cleans and helping to loosen surface dust before treatment.

The Mica Medium Tote in velvety suede is a new addition to our iconic range, designed to hold your travel essentials with a back strap that fits over luggage handles. Due to suede’s delicacy, colour transfer may occur—apply Oroton Stain and Rain Protector and let dry for ten minutes.
THE MARGOT
The Margot Large Day Bag is created from ultra soft pebble leather, which is thoughtfully paired with brass colour hardware throughout. This everyday bag features shoulder straps which convert to a grip top handle and a removable cross body strap, both of which are fitted with roller buckles for easy length adjustment. The interior is lined with contrast light smoke leather and has two main compartments divided by a large internal zip pocket and features a slip pocket plus a leather tab with secure dog clip closure. The bag features a foil embossed logo and a bag charm with a metal plate as a finishing touch.
The Margot is also available in a Hobo silhouette, crafted in pebble leather.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Unlike smooth or pebble leather, suede and nubuck should never be treated with our Leather Conditioner or Shampoo, the formulation is too intensive for these delicate surfaces and may cause discolouration. Stick to our Suede Brush and Eco Water & Stain Protector from the Product Care Leather Kit for best results.
HOW TO USE
- BRUSH FIRST
Before applying any product, use your suede brush in light, even strokes in one direction to remove surface dust and lift the nap. - ENSURE THE SURFACE IS DRY AND CLEAN
Never apply protector to a damp or soiled surface. - SHAKE
Shake the Eco Water & Stain Protector bottle well before use. - TEST FIRST
Spot test on a small, inconspicuous area and allow to dry fully before proceeding. - APPLY
Hold the bottle 15–20cm from the surface and spray in a light, even sweeping motion. Do not saturate — a fine, even coat is all that's needed. - LEAVE TO DRY
Allow to dry fully before wearing or storing. - BRUSH TO RESTORE
Once dry, use your suede brush to gently restore the nap, brushing lightly in one direction. - REAPPLY REGULARLY
We recommend reapplying every three months, or after each clean.

- Avoid moisture where possible. Suede and nubuck are highly absorbent, even light rain can leave marks if the surface hasn't been protected.
- Act quickly on spills. Blot (don't rub) with a clean, dry cloth immediately, then allow to dry fully before brushing the nap back into place with your suede brush.
- Store carefully. Keep suede and nubuck pieces in a dust bag away from direct sunlight, which can cause fading. Avoid storing in plastic, which traps moisture.
- Never use standard leather products. Conditioners, waxes, or polish formulated for smooth leather can permanently damage suede and nubuck surfaces.
- Colour transfer can occur. Suede in particular is susceptible to dye transfer from clothing or other surfaces. Take care when wearing light-coloured suede against dark fabrics.
