WITH FREDRIKA AKANDER
Photographer, content creator, yoga teacher and founder of #MenstruationWithDignity poverty project, Fredrika Akander, shows us how to bring together quilted outerwear and soft padded accessories. Here she also shares some of her styling tips for the cooler season ahead.
What is your favourite trend this season?
I’m loving quilted materials, leather layering and 70’s colours. These are all trends that compliment my individual style and I’m living for them this season.
How have you transitioned your wardrobe for Winter?
I use layers all year around which makes the transition smooth and easy. I use lots of lightweight knits in both jumpers and scarves to layer as needed.
What are your favourite Oroton pieces this season?
I’m a huge fan of the Quilted Parka, it’s such a versatile piece that can be styled up or down and used in so many different settings and weathers. I also really love the Brodie Hobo, it fits everything and is so soft.
What are your top styling tips for the cooler days?
Invest in high quality materials. You won’t get that stuffy feeling in silk, linen and high-quality cotton when you layer on top of it. I love knits over breezy and flowy shirts.
Name your go-to accessory you can’t live without for Winter.
A really cosy oversized scarf, preferably cashmere. The Oroton Fringe Wool Scarf is a great wardrobe staple to throw over a light blouse, like the Long Sleeve Popover Shirt.
