WITH TALISA SUTTON

Founder and Art Director of Badlands Studio show us how to wear pastels and leather for spring. Here she also shares some of her key styling tips for the warmer season ahead.

What is your favourite trend this season?

I'm so glad that bucket hats are having a moment – being sun smart is always a priority for me in Summer, and these hats work so well dressed up or down.

How have you transitioned your wardrobe for spring?

I pack away my heavier winter coats and boots in September, and then pull out my singles and lighter layering pieces as the weather warms up. This season, Spring has also coincided with me moving house, so I'm being very methodical about how I pack and organise everything, and I'm refining my wardrobe as I go.

What are your top styling tips for the warmer days?

Opt for light layers, with a focus on accessories to add a point of difference. I love a light linen or cotton blazer for spring that I can throw over a singlet and denim, or t-shirt and trousers for an easy transition from casual to occasion. Sunglasses, bags and jewellery are easy and fun ways to re-invent classic looks.

Name your go-to accessory you can’t live without for spring.

A chunky sandal, I'll be living in mine this season. They are perfect for running around every day for work, or after my toddler. I also can’t leave the house without my Evelyn Baguette Bag, it’s my go-to accessory with any outfit.

What are your favourite Oroton pieces this season?

The Jerome Linen Bucket Hat are a favourite – I want one in every colour! I also love the Cotton-Linen Belted Blazer and Margot and Lilia mini bags.
