DRESSED FOR SUMMER — THE COCQUEREL SISTERS

Fashion stylist and creative director Romy Frydman captures the beautiful Cocquerel sisters, Anna and Elsa off-duty in Darling Point. Summer in Sydney is all about warm weather, salt and sea and beautiful views across the harbour. Watch the ‘Summer Story’.

We are very close despite our seven-year age gap. We spent our early years living in Los Angeles, Houston and Paris. Mum is Australian and dad is French so we grew up with a mix of the two cultures and are a bit International in that way. Those years overseas made us an incredibly close family who live in the moment, love the arts, and appreciate good company. When we were kids we had a passion for watching movies and acting in family plays with our older siblings, Thomas and Emilie.

Describe what you do?

Acting has become our main focus, it’s exciting as it opens up doors. It’s a dream to collaborate with Oroton which is such an iconic Australian brand.

What do you love about living in Sydney?

The warm weather, the early morning swims and the sunsets over the harbour make you feel like you are always enjoying a bit of a holiday.

What do you enjoy most about the summer holidays?

Long meals with family, having time to ponder over our goals and vision boards and reading books from start to finish.

What does everyday luxury mean to you?

Getting to wear beautifully made clothing that makes you feel great.

What’s on your bedside table right now?

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’ and ‘Where the Crawdads Sing”.

What’s your beauty secret?

Keep hydrated for a fresh glow.

Where is your favourite lunch spot in Sydney?

Totti’s in Bondi and for a sea view any of the Boat House cafés in Balmoral, Shelly or Palm Beach are great.

Any quotes you love?

“Train your mind to see the good in every situation” and “Breathe the fire of passion into all that you do” .

What’s your favourite Oroton piece this season?

We love everything, especially the Wren tote and the new Kaftans.

What are you currently watching/listening to?

We just binged on all of Euphoria. So intense but such a beautifully made show. We also can’t stop watching Peaky Blinders!

Do you collect anything?

Elsa collects quotes and has a huge notebook of quotes gathered over the years from films and books. We both also collect beautiful bags and have some vintage Oroton in our collection.

What's in your bag?

Living in Sydney we never leave the house without sunglasses, lip balm, tinted sunscreen, AirPods and a book.
